Baby loves it and I love it!

Great high chair. Love the modern design for my modern home. The base sticks far out which may not work for small kitchens but if that helps make it stable fine by me. It has 3 levels of recline which is nice though not sure if I will be using it. My 5 month old seems secure in the harness. I like that the top part of the table snaps off so it can be washed separately or thrown in dishwasher. It was easy to put together...took me about 15 minutes. You basically just snap 3 large pieces together. FYI the directions are only photos no words.

Beautiful Highchair for (Small) Babies

I received the Highpod yesterday and set it up immediately. I adored everything about it, but after putting my 7 1/2 month old daughter in it and inspecting everything closely, I reluctantly decided that I was going to return it.My daughter is small for her age - in the 20th percentile at 16.5 lbs, and she fit comfortably in the highpod and really seemed to enjoy it. However, there was VERY LITTLE growing room between the back of the seat where her butt was and the crotch post attached to the tray. I would say she could have used it for a few months before the tray would become useless because the crotchpost would be uncomfortably tight against her.Now, you can remove the tray easily and use the chair without the tray/crotchpost. It will fit very snugly against almost any table because of the unique design of the base and the multiple height positions, so if you don't mind going without the tray after the baby is around 12 months, than I highly recommend this highchair. But for me, a tray is essential to easily feeding my baby, which is why I'm returning the chair.In summary,Pros:*Looks great! Even better in person than online.*Really easy to assemble - came in 3 pieces that even I (DIY idiot that I am) could snap together.*The most seamless highchair I could find anywhere (which is the reason I chose it in the first place - seems so easy to clean!)*3 different seat positions: Upright & Semi-reclined, which are useable up to 44 lbs supposedly, and fully reclined, which is useable until 16 lbs.*Multiple height adjustments - easy to adjust!*Lightweight, so although it doesn't have wheels, it's easy enough to pick up and move around. It is surprisingly stable and sturdy for how light it is.Cons:*Not much room between back of seat and the crotchpost attached to the tray. Can't imagine being able to use the tray past 12 months for this reason.*Tray position adjustment seems uncomfortable for baby. When I tried to adjust it down while in the reclined seat positions, it dug into her groin area.*Doesn't come in additional colors. (Phil&Teds website shows it in red, but that color is not available anywhere.)INCORRECT MAXIMUM Wt. LIMIT: I contacted Phil&Teds customer service about the conflict between the paper manual I received with my Highpod, which listed the maximum weight limit as 31 lbs, and the weight limit listed in their online product manual, which states the max limit as 44 lbs. The gentleman I spoke with said the correct max limit was 44 lbs, though I can't imagine a 44 lb child fitting into the seat of the Highpod, with or without the tray.One last note for those parents who don't like that this high chair doesn't have wheels: I contacted their customer service department via email before buying the Highpod, and asked if they had any plans to redesign the chair with wheels attached. Their response was informative (for me)."It is unlikely that we will do this because of the potential for injury for the child. A stable fixed location highchair is considerably safer for the child, and in many countries in the world, highchairs with wheels are not permitted."

Great High Chair with Minor Flaws

I ordered this high chair and waited anxiously to receive it in the mail. After having just completed putting it together, here are my thoughts:INSTALLATION:The installation was relatively easy with just 3 pieces that snapped together. The instruction manual only has pictures, so it took me a few extra minutes to figure out how to adjust the seat (FYI - there is a lever at the top of the seat on the back that will swing the seat upright). Other than that, it was pretty brainless.SPACE:I bought this high chair because we have a small kitchen. We don't have room for a standard kitchen table and instead eat our meals around the island/bar. The telescoping legs of the chair make it perfect to push up against the counter. Other high chairs that I researched could not do this. In that one regard it is a space saver. But the base itself stretches out very far - about 2.5 feet! I'm assuming that's for balance but it makes it inconvenient to stow away when not in use if you are working with a small space. I wish that it would collapse flat or something.WEIGHT:I read another review that said this was lightweight. That person has much more upper body strength than me because I find this chair to be heavy and hard to move. It's not impossible, but a struggle. I agree with other reviews that state they wish it had wheels. I don't have to move it far though, so it's not a total deal breaker.DESIGN:The design is beautifully modern and complements a modern space perfectly! Even if your style is more traditional, the black/white combo doesn't make it stand out in a obvious way.COMFORT:Too early to say for sure because my baby isn't born, but the chair seems very comfy. It comes with thick squishy padding across the shoulders and crotch area. There's also a removable back pad that is small and reminds me of a neck pillow that you would use on a plane. I also love that you can recline the seat to various angles - from completely upright to almost completely flat - which will be great for the various feeding stages.SUMMARY:So far it seems like a great investment because the special features like the telescoping legs (perfect for pushing against an island/breakfast bar) and adjustable recline make it top of its class. It would have gotten 5 stars had the base been more compact, it folded flat for small spaces, and had wheels to make it easier to maneuver (or at least been more lightweight). Still I am very satisfied with this purchase!
