You don't get enough for the price.

We received this highchair as a baby shower gift. We put a different highchair on our registry, and we should have exchanged this one for the one we originally picked out. The high chair's assembly was the worst of all the baby gear we have, and the highchair is probably the most simple piece of gear we have. I had an awful time getting hardware to line up with the predrilled holes in the highchair.The chair does not really recline. The two different seat positions are practically the same. This chair cannot be used until your baby can start to sit on his own. We ended up using our bouncy seat or swing for our son's first "highchair" because he was only a "supported sitter" and slumped over in this highchair.Our 6 month old son is just now starting to use this chair, and he still doesn't fit into it well. With the 5-point harness adjusted as small as it gets, we can pick him up out of the highchair without unbuckling the harness. It's still so loose that my son can pull his arms out of the harness easily. He's now 11.5 lbs. We only put him in it to eat, then immediately take him back out so he doesn't pull himself out of the harness and fall out of the chair. With the maximum weight limit on this highchair of 25lbs, I estimate that we'll have to stop using it in about 6-7 months.The tray on this highchair is not dishwasher safe, and the cloth cover on this highchair is not machine washable. The chair's "barbershop" system of height adjustment works poorly. I can't adjust the height of the chair myself. My husband has to adjust it. The only good thing about it is that it swivels so we can set it in between us & take turns feeding our son during meals.The chair is poorly made overall. If you really like the look of this highchair, I suggest looking at the Boon Flair. It's more expensive, but looks to be better-made and nicer in general. For the price of this chair, you can get a much nicer one that turns into a booster, has a dishwasher-safe tray, and reclines to actually fit a small baby.

I bought this because it is super cute. It was a pain to put together, though, due to the bolts not lining up well. Assembly took me over an hour by myself. At the highest height the chair is wobbly so I use it at the lowest height adjustment. What I'm wondering is has the fool who designed the tray ever seen a toddler plate? It does not fit any toddler plates!!! I had to return 3 feeding sets already. The smallest toddler plate I could find (and believe me, I've looked!) is 7.5" in diameter and most are 8" - this chair's tray fits a plate that's 6" in diameter! I have yet to find one that small and after all the searching I've done I doubt I ever will. Amazon does offer "free" returns but I'd have to disassemble it and they offered to reimburse only $16 for shipping it back. This thing is as heavy as a bag of bricks, no way it's shipping for $16! I don't want to be limited to feeding everything from a bowl but unfortunately I am. Two stars cause it's cute - it only deserves one. It was a $120 mistake buying this!UPDATE: Sept. 2011 - Well my baby has been eating solids for about 3 months now, and just a few weeks ago graduated to 3 meals a day. I change my rating to ZERO STARS, I absolutely hate this chair! The shoulder straps do not adjust well so my baby moves all over, making it hard to feed. They are the tightest I could get them and my baby can put her head down on the tray and go to sleep in this chair! The shoulder straps are heavily stained and impossible to clean. The cloth on the chair (also not easily cleaned though it looks like it would be in the pictures) is also stained. I want to drag this chair outside and throw it against the ground until it breaks into a million pieces, I hate this thing that much! Feeding a baby is supposed to be enjoyable, and in this chair it's a hassle! Hard to clean, hard to use! I wish I could throw this thing in the trash but it costs too much.UPDATE: Jan. 2012 - Updating to add that my baby has been able to remove the blue tray starting at 11 months of age. It attaches in only one spot (in the center, closest to the baby), and even though she's never seen me take it off, she has figured out how and can now toss it across the kitchen. It literally takes her under 3 seconds to take the tray off. So if you're using the tray as a plate (since a real plate won't fit the tray), watch out! It's going to get messy. Sadly, there are no tricks to get it to stay on, either.
