Affordable and Looks Good!

I searched high and low for an affordable baby booster that wasn't cheap neon-colored plastic. Other boosters with this same design were easily 2-3x the price of this seat and had mixed reviews. It folds up to be very slim, maybe 2 inches thick except the hooks at the top. I could store this just about anywhere in my small apartment when not in use.ConstructionThis chair seems to be sturdy, but I haven't had it long enough to know for sure. It fits my rounded-back chairs pretty well, although I did have to fiddle with the under-the-seat strap to get it nice and tight. For that i fastened the strap further towards the back of the seat where the seat was smaller, tightened it as much as possible, and then slid it forward until it was very tight (using the seat of the chair as a wedge basically). You might have to buy a belt extender for this strap if you have wide or very thick seats on your chairs. Depending on if your chair backs are a little too tall, it's not too hard to put a thin phone book between the legs of the booster and the seat of your chair to make it fit better. I didn't have to do this but it just barely fit my standard-sized chairs. The black material that covers the top of the frame that goes over the top of your chair is rubbery and padded to protect your chairs, but the feet on the bottom of the frame is just a cheap-looking plastic.The Actual SeatIt did have a slight chemical smell when I opened it but it dissipated quickly. Also it looks like it's pretty simple to wash the seat cover. It is NOT a padded seat, but that doesn't seem to bother my baby. The seat belt didn't tighten quite enough to fit around my 7 month old, so you might need to put a rolled up towel behind your baby to get the seat belt tight enough if your baby is young or on the small side. The seat belt DOES NOT come off if you are worried about that sort of thing.LooksI love that this seat is not bright garish plastic -- let's face it, we *all* have enough of that around our house anyway. The metal frame is a matte light gray and the seat is black with light tan accents. The seat looks kind of like canvas but I believe it is just a tightly woven polyester. It would probably be simple to make a different seat cover if you wanted to. It has a gray logo on the top left of the back (not pictured), but it doesn't look bad.SafetyRemember your baby can push off the table with hands and feet and it could cause the entire chair to tip over, but that is true of any baby booster / high chair. Periodically test the booster by lifting up the entire dining room chair by the frame of the baby booster to make sure it's still securely attached (it says this in the directions).I Wish It HadA way for the lower section of the frame (beneath the seat) to adjust so it would fit more kinds of chairs and so I could adjust the seat up or down for younger or older babies.A slightly longer under-the-chair strap to fit more chairs.A way for the seat belt to come off for washing.Rubber feet instead of plastic.An optional 5 point harness.Like I said though, so far I love it! You can't really beat the price either.
