Cute, sturdy, convenient!

Found this at a Target Greatland store and was thrilled to see it in person. I had been trying to decide between this and the Jeep version. I was leaning more towards this one since there is a 50 pound weigh limit as opposed to Jeep's 45 pound weight limit.Has 2 straps to secure behind and below a chair.The bottom has grips.The adjustable legs are pretty cool - you pull back the velcro, fold it back into the velcro on the bottom so those fabric pieces are out of the way. Lift the legs out and up, then push them down so they click into place - they are very sturdy when pushed in correctly.Has a carry handle and shoulder strap.Inside zippered compartment can hold quite a bit. I have a take and toss sippy cup, take and toss silverware in take and toss silverware container, soft travel pack of wipes, a small bib, and I am planning on putting more in there such as the biodegradable disposable placemats. Room for a few small toys. still room for probably a couple diapers (though we're potty training so I won't add those in). There is also one pocket in the storage compartment that I might put a thin book or travel sized coloring book/crayons in. You could fit larger items in the pocket, but keep in mind that takes away from the general storage capability of the rest of it.The outside of the bag is black and a lime green (which I LOVE). The inside is the same as pictured here. (blue, white, purple, and lime green) Very cute and would work well with either a boy or a girl.My daughter is 28 months old and weighs 28 pounds. She is a calm toddler, but I still believe an active child would do well in this seat. It's only a 3 point harness, so if you have a toddler that is good at getting out of those, it's probably not the best one for you. Then again, it's a travel booster seat so the short amount of time he/she might be ok.The Jeep version of this has pockets on the outside sides for additional storage and this Munchkin version does not. But I didn't want something too bulky so this is perfect for me. The interior storage fits enough for us. I also wanted to make sure I would be able to fit this in a suitcase for flights and it will, no problem.

Best Portable Booster

I looked at three different boosters before purchasing this one. Reasons I chose this one:1. Does not "inflate" so therefore won't lose air and become unusable2. Sturdy base with pop-out feet that are non-slip3. Folds up like a breeze for portability4. Strong enough to use at home on a daily basis5. Stylish colors that I like (I have a boy, but could be used for a girl easily)6. Storage compartment keeps all the items we need in a restaurant situation (forks, cup, etc.)A little more expensive than the other two seats I looked at, but well worth it. My 2-year old is active but he sits well in this seat and likes to be up at table height without having to kneel.

Good concept - could use a few improvements

I read the reviews for several boosters, and decided on this one. When I put my 18 mo old daughter in it (who is in the 10th percentile for weight) she fits pretty well, except like one of the other people mentioned, the front t-shaped part of the harness doesn't come up high enough. I'm also having trouble securing the large shoulder strap under the chair and getting it to tighten as indicated in the instructions. Overall - seems sturdy, and portable and good to use in a pinch when no other options are available.

Awesome chair even though it did not work for my table.

I love Joovy products because of quality construction and few plastic parts. It was pretty and sleek without loud colours , and loooked like it was easy to clean. This didn't work on my dinner table because I have a formal dinning table with a removable sleeve. The arms that go under the table rested on the sliding part of my table and was not secure. This worked nicely on my friends table though, but I 'm not willing to buy another table. I reviewed another chair that did work for me.

Cannot recommend except for very small sized children

I am seriously disappointed with this high chair, particularly since Babybjorn came so close to making an exceptional product.Upon unpacking, I was delighted to see that it is very easy to assemble. There are 4 legs, made of heavy, powder-coated metal, that snap into the one-piece seat of the chair. That's it! Assembly complete!The tray mechanism is clever. It is attached to the front of the seat, and swings up to lock in place between the baby's legs. The locking mechanism for the tray is a large knob that you turn to lock or to unlock. The tray features a second, snap-off tray that goes right into the dishwasher.The seat is a molded, one-piece design that includes a foot rest also. It is made of thick, smooth white plastic and has no corners or crevices that can catch food, spills or crumbs. Clean up would be very, very easy. There is also a seat belt to keep baby safely in the chair.You will notice right away that this chair is shorter than most. The height of the chair is 33". It is designed so that the tray height is dining table height. It allows you to pull baby right up to the table next to you. I like this, too, because it lets parents include baby in family meals more easily.The entire chair folds up for storage by swinging the tray down and pressing a button underneath the chair that folds the legs together. I think this is quite convenient.The idea behind this unique chair, I think, it to make a compact chair that will easily fit into even the smallest home. The base is 22" x 22" and the tray is 11" x 17". The design is minimalist and extremely functional, while still being beautiful.The problem is that Babybjorn went too far in scaling this chair down. The manufacturer says this is for children 5 months to 3 years, but unless your child is an extremely small sized child, a 3 year old will never fit in this. My granddaughter is 15 months old and this chair is already too small for her. She is tall, but that is not the problem. The problem is that the tray, which is adjustable to a couple of positions, squishes uncomfortably against my granddaughter even when in the furthest position, and my granddaughter is not fat or even chunky. She is tall and thin! I can also see that within a couple of months, the footrest would be too short for her, also, because her knees would hit the tray. (Think 20 people stuffed in a Volkswagen.)This is so disappointing because the design is exceptional and the quality of materials are superb. I have always been happy with Babybjorn products. However, I think a high chair should fit most children for longer than a year, especially a premium brand at a premium price. Not recommended.

Works great for my large toddler!

I have three children, so I have tried many different high chairs over the years in my quest to find the "perfect" one (Graco, Cosco, Fisher-Price, Peg Perego, and the classic wooden high chair). The Baby Bjorn chair beats the heck out of them all! Everything about this chair is thoughtfully designed and made with quality materials. The other reviewers have mentioned how small it is, and they are right...it is perfect for tight spaces. But some of the reviewers said this high chair was too small for a toddler, and that is where I completely disagree. My 18 month-old, who is 33 inches tall and weighs 25 pounds, fits in it perfectly with a year's worth of growing room. (I have posted some pictures in the "View and share related images" area to show this.) I am using the tray on the middle setting for my toddler, and it fits her perfectly, even though she wears big, bulky cloth diapers! It will be a while before we need to move up to the biggest setting. And her legs have plenty of room to grow before her knees get close to touching the bottom of the tray. This high chair is a little different from the others on the market, in that the tray is meant to sit snugly against the child, to keep him/her from being able to stand up in the chair. (This might be the reason some reviewers feel it is too small for their toddlers.) The bonus to this is that there is not a gap between the tray and the child, so no food falls down into the seat, and cleanup is a breeze!Here are the dimensions of the Baby Bjorn high chair. Base: 22"L x 22"W. Seat height: 22". Tray height: 28". Chair back height: 33".It took me a little while to get used to folding this chair, but it gets much easier with practice. And I love the removable tray, which my toddler has not been able to take off herself (yay!). I love that this chair is compact and lightweight, because I can easily move it around to wherever we happen to be eating. In fact, when I am making dinner, my toddler occasionally scoots it over to me so that she can sit in it and watch me. Gotta love that!One last thought: my toddler really likes that the tray is lower on this chair, because she can see down into her bowl, and therefore scoop out her cereal more easily. If she were sitting in a booster seat at our table, she would be sitting so much lower than her bowl, that she would be looking at the side of it. How could she find her cereal like that?In short, the Baby Bjorn high chair is high-quality, safe, compact, lightweight, SUPER easy to clean (no crevices for food to get stuck in!), and suitable for both babies and toddlers...who could ask for more?***UPDATE*** My daughter is now two years old, 36 inches tall, and weighs 30 pounds (90th percentile for height, 85th percentile for weight, so, quite large for her age!). This chair still fits her perfectly (I have added another photo to the "View and Share Related Images" area), and we are still using the tray on the middle setting. I love this thing so much that I even take it with us when we travel!***2ND UPDATE*** My daughter is now 2.5 years old, 37 inches tall, and weighs 32 pounds (75th percentile for height, 80th percentile for weight). This chair is now getting a little tight for her, simply because her legs are so long. Her knees are almost touching the bottom of the tray. (I have added two more photos to the "View and Share Related Images area.) The tray is still on the middle setting, so she has more room to grow outward, just not upward. We are now retiring this chair, and it makes me so sad, because I have loved it so much!

Perfect for Baby-Led Weaning (until the tray started falling off)

We have been following baby-led weaning with our daughter (basically, baby learns to feed herself real food instead of being spoon-fed purees; see the reviews of this book for more information: Baby-Led Weaning: The Essential Guide to Introducing Solid Foods - and Helping Your Baby to Grow Up a Happy and Confident Eater) and we found that the high chair we already owned was not working for us. With BLW, you start solid food at 6 months of age and the baby needs to sit up straight to eat. And since baby is feeding herself, things can get very messy, very quickly.Well, the BabyBjorn high chair solved pretty much all my problems.- My young baby is held very securely in this seat; she cannot twist and turn sideways like in some other chairs.- Because the tray sits so close to her body, the food that she drops and spills doesn't fall into her lap -- it stays on the tray. This has reduced my laundry problems significantly!- The chair is a BREEZE to clean, and the removable white tray is easy to rinse in the sink or to pop into the dishwasher (it fits nicely on either rack since it isn't super huge).- It's great for small spaces. Not too big. And because it folds so easily, we sometimes put it in the car and take it with us (on road trips, or to family members' houses), because it makes mealtimes so much easier. I even once took the legs off, packed it into a large suitcase, and checked it on an airplane because I didn't want to be without it for a week at a rental house.A few small minuses that you will want to know about:- Because the seat is so minimalist (it doesn't come up high in back or wrap around the sides), there is a moment when I set my daughter in the chair, while I am securing the harness, that feels precarious to me -- like if she suddenly launched herself sideways, she would fall. I hold her carefully at this point and once the harness is fastened, she can't go anywhere.- The seat is not large at all, and the back is low. I like this, but if you are expecting your baby to have head support, you will be disappointed.- The knobs that control the tray and the folding are easy to use once you know how to do it, but they are NOT obvious to someone who is trying it for the first time. So if you have a babysitter or someone who needs to use the high chair, you will need to show them how it works before you leave.- We had this seat folded and leaning against the wall, and my husband accidentally knocked it over and two small pieces of plastic broke off the harness latch. Everything else on this chair is super-sturdy (heavy metal legs, strong plastic body) but that latch is apparently kind of brittle? It still works fine even with the missing pieces, but I need to contact Baby Bjorn to get a replacement just in case.- The price is steep (though comparable to other high-end high chairs that aren't as functional as this one). I do wish it was a little less expensive, but I still think it was worth it.- It might not fit an obese child. The tray has three settings to adjust how close it is to the body. My 18 lb., 28" baby uses the middle setting. As she gets bigger, I think she will probably stay on that setting or go down to the smaller one because the tray will hit her lower in the waist and not right on the belly. And I think this chair would be fine even for a tall kid, though they might want to let their feet dangle instead of using the foot rest. But a child with a really large belly might not fit using the widest tray setting. (UPDATE: see below -- she is outgrowing this chair now at 13 months!)- If you want to pull your child up to the table to eat with everyone else, you can't really do so, because the tray is not removable. (The tray does slide under the edge of our kitchen table, so we can get her pretty close, but she can't actually eat off of the table like everyone else.)Overall, a great, compact, easy to clean high chair. Bonus points for its minimalist Swedish style.UPDATE: After using this chair for six months, we ran into a very annoying problem. The removable tray has warped and it no longer latches securely. This means that it tends to pop off at inopportune moments. My daughter has noticed this and now likes to grab the tray and bang it up and down (sending her food flying). So I'm spending most of each meal holding the tray in place with my hand. (We do put the tray in the dishwasher every day, though we don't use a heated dry setting, so I don't know why it would have warped.)Also, at 13 months, she is not fitting into the chair very well. She has been fussing when I fasten the tray, because it is so tight.It was a great high chair while it lasted, but I think it's going back now. :(

Great for Meal-time, preferred over Bumbo after 3.5 months of age

Our son started to really enjoy sitting up when he was about 2.5 months old and so we started looking for a booster chair that could do double duty as a "high chair" when the time came and a place for him to safely practice his sitting skills until then. Like most people, we were torn between the Bumbo and the Bebepod so when our neighbor offered to loan us their Bumbo after we'd already ordered the Bebepod, we got the chance to do a side-by-side comparison and we found that, while the Bumbo probably provides better support for those first few weeks of sitting up, the Bebepod seems to have more staying power. Our son is on the long and lean side but even so, with a cloth diaper and long pants on, the fit in the Bumbo is getting snug at 5 months. The Bebepod I can foresee us using for quite a few more months.Pros:Our son hasn't started solids yet but we like using the BebePod to include him in our mealtimes. We either sit his chair on top of the table (within reach of us should he topple over somehow but it seems very, very unlikely) or we put the chair on top of a bar chair we have with a nice high back on it. We love that we can all have a meal together even if we are eating food and he's just "eating" his toys and his hands.The fit is great. At about 3.5 months this chair probably did not provide quite as much support for our son as the Bumbo but these days its plenty. He enjoys sitting in this chair.The included toy is one of our son's favorites! It can keep him entertained for an entire meal.While we haven't started solids quite yet, this chair will be our "high chair" at least until our son outgrows it, which is great for saving space in our small apartment. If we really wanted to, we could even take it out to restaurants with us, but we haven't thus far.Cons:While I suppose a kid could sit safely in this chair, as long as its strapped tightly to a dining room chair, I would be nervous to leave the room for more than about 30 seconds. For us, this isn't a big issue (see: small apartment) but it's probably best to be close by at all times when your kid is in this chair, especially if they are squirmy like our sonPutting on the tray attachment is a bit of a pain until you get used to it and there is no way to get the baby into the chair without taking off the tray. Now, I can do it with one hand, but at first it just took a few extra seconds each time.This isn't a con for us but it might be for you: the included toy does not stay in the slot on the tray, at least not if you have a baby who wants to really play with it! :) We don't mind at all but if you were hoping to avoid the diving-under-the-table-a-dozen-times-to-retrieve-the-toy game, this is not going to be your saving grace.Bottom Line: More useful in the long-term than a Bumbo but you will probably still need to buy a "real" high chair by the time your kid turns one. Until then, this is a wonderful and very useful product for helping a baby learn to sit up and getting to spend some quality face-time together while still being able to enjoy eating your dinner with two hands.

great buy

I debated buying this seat b/c I have bought a few baby items I thought I had to have then weren't that great and I thought this might be the same way. Everyone I know who has a baby around my son's age has a bumbo so finally I did some research and everything pointed to this being a better choice than bumbo...better price, leg openings bigger(my son has thunder thighs), a tray included, a placemat included, a toy included and a more fun color! I was not disappointed. My son loves the new perspective of sitting up on his own - other people I know seem to use theirs on the floor but I keep mine snapped onto our dining room table so while we're eating dinner we put him in and he feels like he's a part of the family playing with his toys while we eat. Great buy!

Great product but a few serious flaws

My baby is very comfortable in this seat and it enables her to join us at mealtimes. We keep it strapped to a regular kitchen chair, sometimes I take it off so she can sit in it on the floor nearby while I give her older sister a bath or something. It has become difficult to use it for eating, though. The food tray does not stay on, when her hands are sticky all she wants to do is use them to lift it off. I ended up taping the food tray down so she can use it- ends up I'd rather do without the fancy toy and have a solid tray just for eating. Also, the decorative pattern on the food tray COMES OFF when you wash it and once the color was even getting on her food. This seems very unsafe to me. I ended up scrubbing it hard one day to take all the remaining color off on purpose, it is such a shame because the watermelon picture was very charming. The color should not bleed off so easy like that. Also, the plastic piece that connects the tray on the bottom is awkward to use and ours just broke. You can get a replacement piece if you call the manufacturer, but I'd rather they figure out how to make an attachment system that works better.

Very nice but not flat folding

Is a very nice high hair but when folding it to put it away you have to take the tray off. You can fold it with the tray on but the tray sticks out and it's not a flat fold for storing. I do like the adjustable height options and the overall design of it. I just feel like a flatter folding option would have been nice.

LOVE this highchair

So far this has been a fantastic highchair. Very easy to assemble, and it's very easy to get my son in and out of this chair.I love the different reclining features and how easy it is to take the tray off one handed (just remember when your kid isn't in the highchair that you need to step on the bottom frame to give it more weight when pulling the tray off).The best feature for me so far has actually been the wheels. I'm able to move the highchair from room to room and love that I don't even have to take my son out and it moves with ease.Great product!

This high chair is great! I love the color and style. It works really well for young babies because of the recline as they start out eating solids. It looks so comfortable to sit in and washes off really easily. Our baby is very happy sitting in this high chair!

The high Chair is very stable and offers different seat positions, easy to clean tray with compartments. The fabric seat is very attractive, but requires frequent laundering, and is not easy to put back on the chair because the straps have to be reinserted in the slots. However this is still a very good high chair , it can even be folded to put away.The high chair comes with two toys that are removable. They are not so great because they disrupt the feeding process. They are supposed to distract the waiting baby.

Great high chair!

I have an older version of this chair, but it basically looks like the same chair. I've used this high chair for both my kids and love it. It easily rolls from the kitchen into the dining room. I can roll my daughter into the kitchen so she can watch me while I cook. The tray is convenient and easy to clean. And the seat cover can also be taken off and put in the washing machine. It also comes with a few toys to keep the kids occupied. Overall, this is a great high chair and I would highly recommend it!

Buckle up!

We have had this high chair a few months and it has been great. I love the removable inset so I don't have to wash the entire tray every meal. The toys keep her busy for a few minutes while I am getting the food together, getting the washcloth wet, etc. One word of caution. Be sure to ALWAYS use the buckles! They are kind of a pain to thread through after washing and I got lazy. I put the 15 month old in the chair without the straps and bingo, she wriggled up to a squatting position, leaned on the far edge of the tray, the tray popped up and down she went. She fell down and banged her forehead on the upside down tray. Aside from sporting a purple goose egg she is okay. But I feel awful because I ignored safety. Take the time to put the straps back after washing!
