Starting as a traditional high chair, the Signet Complete High Chair can function safely with or without the tray to seat infants at the table. The safety guard can later be removed to allow preschoolers and toddlers to step up into the chair on their own. Once a child outgrows both high chair configurations, the Signet converts into a full-size chair for teens and adults.

WOW. Annoying on SO many levels

I am a super busy mom of a toddler and a crawler. I have no time for reviewing stuff, but i simply had to speak up. I purchased this product in mid 2009, perhaps improvements have been made, but here are my gripes:1) Clear plastic cover over tray was IMPOSSIBLE to get off.2) Tray itself never sat properly in the circular niches on either side so it was always wobbly3) While it's visually appealing, hip, something you'd like to have in your house along with all your real grown up furniture (as it will be a fixture for at least a few years, right?) it looks AWFUL now. The espresso finish Im guessing was a poor choice, but the finish dings and nicks and looks like it's been through world war III at this point. I uploaded a couple of pics.4) there are about 800 allen wrench screw that allow for major adjustments as your kid grows, a good thing, but they loosen over time, and every few months you have to DIG THE GROSS FOOD out of each screw (and i DO wipe this thing down thoroughly each time my son eats!) so you can fit the allen wrench in (if you can FIND WHERE YOU PUT IT) and tighten each screw. I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THS SILLINESS.5) and there are a million OTHER crevices for food to collect, I have to take it outside and scrub it with a TOOTHBRUSH on occasion just to get it clean.I went with the oxo for my 2nd son, and am far more pleased...so far.

Highs and Lows

I have a 10 month old. We have used this chair since he was first on solids at 4 months.The overall aesthetic is quite nice. The chair is beautiful and I don't mind it in my home. i was not looking forward to a hunk of plastic with Pooh skipping across the cushion. That being said, what everyone has said about food collecting everywhere is true. There is a place where the height of the tray can be adjusted, and it collects food better than a hamster. So, for as beautiful as it is, I no longer wish to let people see it in my home because of all the food. I don't have time to tooth brush it like other people have said. I clean the parts he can reach and deep clean once a month or so. That all being said, I have never owned any other high chair, so maybe this is just par for the course. I know my baby hardly looks better than the chair when he's done eating.My tray is not wobbly, but it does lean away from my baby, so food rolls away from him at times. The wood finish has held up just fine on mine, not a single mark yet even after the scrubbing. The plastic tray is impossible to remove, I feel like I'm going to break it every time.My biggest problem with the chair though, is that my child's head comes up higher than the back of the head rest. When he decides to throw a fit, he pushes his feet up on the foot rest and the back of his head hits the top of the backrest. Since the cushion is only on the front, it is basically a piece of wood hitting the bottom of the back of his head. Needless to say, this never makes the tantrums better. A better designed backrest or cushion would solve this problem. My child is taller than average, but this would be true for any child that is a bit older.Overall, I enjoy the chair, but would probably try another one next time.

Perfect, gorgeous wooden chair

Have a ten month old and been using this new Svan chair for few months now. The chair is really great for three reasons: 1) its absolutely beautifully designed with great cushions (we have both the green and orange), 2) it was a cinch to assemble and is easy to adjust as our baby grows (we have already adjusted twice as she's gotten bigger and 3) our baby loves it!I have a lot of friends who have purchased older Svan chair versions, and a few mentioned issues with drooping trays or other issues. From my understanding (i spoke with a Svan customer service person prior to ordering) they've made significant improvements to address prior problems and to make assembly easier.My wife and I are very happy customers so far.
