I am very happy with my choice to invest in a Tripp Trapp, and the baby rail is a must. My daughter is pulled right up to the dining room table with us at mealtime and that means easy interaction and no extra clean up. I don't have to deal with a dirty tray. I just wipe off hands, face, and tabletop (and the dog takes care of everything from seat down). I do not have the cushion so I can continue on and just wipe down the whole chair for particularly messy meals. I assembled it myself and I am not tool-savvy. It only requires a hex key and that's the extent of my toolbox! I've already re-adjusted the setting once and it was easier than the initial set-up. The straps are a little hard to adjust on mine, but I don't need to do it often. It is helpful to have the middle strap facing down and out when putting the baby into it, along with hanging the shoulder straps over the back of the baby seat back at first. There are no signs of wear-and-tear, yet, and I hope that it will prove to be eco-friendly and last a lifetime.

We bought the Trip Trapp chair in natural for our first child in 1977. Yes, that's right, 1977. We used it for child #2, also. It is now being used for our 6 and 8 yr. old granddaughters. We now have another granddaughter who is just 7 wks. old. We're going to be buying another one and sending it off to California for her. We'll keep ours here in Chicago for when she visits.The chair is wonderful because it grows with the child. It's extremely sturdy and can be pulled right up to the table. It's been painted several different colors over the years, too!
